SAVE12: Mad Headed Octogram - Speak Ye The Octogram Volume 1: The Unmistakable Fire.. **SOLD OUT**

Mad Headed Octogram is a self-confessed raconteur, the thinking man's Alain De Botton. Guitarist for the South-East's angriest purveyors of 'baggy', the Pheromoans, and the first man in London to don a rucksack, and the first to dismiss them as a 'dead trend,' he sees fiction where others seek truths, or wisdom where others are still smelling the coffee. He counts Shovel from M People among his closest confidants, and it was he who he turned to for help, when opening his new bank account. His stylised poetry can seem too self-conscious at first glance, but settles debates with its frankness, and no doubt starting the odd conflict with its sheer verve. A-Side is a live poetry recording is taken from December 2010 at Ryans Bar in London, with the jazz stylings of Paola Zanetti and Tom Scott on board, in front a small crowd of fellow consciousness junkies. Side B is a studio affair, as Octogram reflects on his time in a Harlem 'flat,' and takes aim at some wearily familiar targets. Check out some live footage of the Octogram here.

(repress in red wrapping paper)

This is a Pheromoans side-project ; tape is sold out but can be downloaded for free here

SAVE1: Pheromoans 7" EP - *SOLD OUT*

A-Side:
i) “Suburban Despot” the imposition of being drafted into an arbitrary suburban town, and the difficulties of fitting in, and creating/maintaining an enjoyable existence; the narrator’s frustrations with the above.

ii) “Tattoo Boom” ; this is about the phenomenon of premier league footballers and the trend (or "boom") with getting tattoos in different languages presumably relating to their love life/lives. The whole song is undermined right at the end by a pointless dig at Top Gear.

B-Sides:
i) “PHANTOM DARWIN” ; was meant to be concerned with the story of the notorious coneist who faked his own disappearance but also revisits themes explored on the first song here.

ii) LATE NIGHT MAD-FEST is simply a sequence of unrelated phrases/sayings particular to the pheromoans and their fans. ‘Supreme excuse me’ being a favourite retort to overly critical sound men, ‘arise sir Mick Jagger’ is sometimes used to denounce ‘rock star’ type behaviour often noted in our contemporaries.
